Care Points

Kyoro-chan loves to be kept clean. Let’s look in detail at where he gets dirty easily and how to wash each part properly.

Inside the Hat: “Gentle Brushing”

Kyoro-chan's handle.

First, let’s take off the handle part (his hat) on top of his head. If you look at the underside, you will see the “spikes” and “press plate” that grip the ice firmly. Since these are detailed parts, use a soft-bristled brush to wash them gently, as if you are tickling him. Diluted detergent and lukewarm water are fine to use. *Please also wash the included “Ice Cup” every time you use it.

Inside the Tummy (Ice Case): Wash Thoroughly

The ice case is hidden inside the main body. This is a very important place connected to Kyoro-chan’s charm point: his “eye movement.” Wash this area gently with a soft brush or sponge, too. *There is a sharp blade at the bottom. Please handle it carefully to protect your hands so you don’t say “Ouch!”

“Wipe-Down” for Face and Body

Kyoro-chan's full body.

If Kyoro-chan’s body gets dirty, do not wash the whole unit under running water. Instead, wipe his body with a towel. Squeeze a cloth soaked in water or warm water tightly, and wipe him gently. *Dunking him in water over 50°C (122°F) may cause a malfunction.

Kyoro-chan will Cry! The “Don’ts”

Kyoro-chan, a symbol of summer.

Even if you mean well, some actions can hurt Kyoro-chan. Please avoid the following at all costs.

No Hot Baths or Machines!

Do not pour hot water (over 50°C / 122°F) on him, and never put him in a dishwasher or dish dryer.

No Scrubbing Hard!

Hard sponges or scrubbers will scratch his smooth skin. The golden rule when washing is to use a “soft sponge” and wash him as if you are petting him.

No Leaving Him Wet!

After his bath (washing), wipe off the moisture immediately. If left wet, rust or mold might appear… To keep him shiny forever, please promise to “wipe him immediately after washing.”

“Goodnight” Until Next Summer

When the cool breeze starts to blow, Kyoro-chan enters a slightly long hibernation. This is the “Goodnight Ritual” to ensure you meet his cheerful smile again next summer.

Dry Completely

After washing, dry him thoroughly so no moisture remains.

Cooling Off in the Shade

Direct sunlight can give Kyoro-chan’s body a sunburn (discoloration), so please let him dry slowly in a well-ventilated “shaded area.”

A Futon in a Bag

Once he is dry, wrap him in a plastic bag to protect him from dust. Kyoro-chan’s favorite place is somewhere with low humidity.

Summary

The secret is to keep his smile sparkling at all times. If you keep the promises here and cherish him, Kyoro-chan will surely continue to roll his eyes lovingly by your side forever. Let’s make many wonderful summer memories with your cute Kyoro-chan!
