Tiger’s Vacuum Insulated Bottles: Our “4 PLEDGES” and Our Commitment to the Future

Hello from the TIGER MAGAZINE editorial team.
Based on our corporate philosophy of “Spreading joyous gatherings throughout the world,” we strive to help enrich your lives, especially around the dining table. Among our products, our vacuum insulated bottles are cherished by many as part of their daily lives. But did you know that these bottles carry our “4 PLEDGES”, which we made to protect those “joyous gatherings” for the future?
Today, we’d like to share the “passion” behind these pledges.

Why We Are Intentionally Declaring “the Obvious”

Tiger Corporation celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2023.
As we looked toward the next 100 years, we held deep internal discussions about “On what basis will we compete?” and “What can we offer to future generations?” What we decided was to clearly declare to society the things we had previously left unsaid, precisely because they seemed “obvious” to us.
To be honest, there were many concerns within the company, such as “Why state the obvious now?” and “Shouldn’t we be promoting our functionality (like lightness and heat/cold insulation)?” But we realized that these “obvious” principles were, in fact, the “weapon” we had cherished since our founding: manufacturing with integrity.
These pledges are a declaration of four “NOs.”
Pledge 1: NO Plastic Waste
First, a pledge that is closest to your daily life. We promote “NO Plastic Waste” through the use of reusable personal bottles.
It is said that approximately 21.2 billion1 plastic PET bottles are consumed annually in Japan. We believe that your small, everyday action of “choosing a reusable bottle” is a definite step toward reducing single-use plastics and protecting our planet from serious issues like ocean pollution.
We want Tiger’s bottles to be your partner in aiming for a sustainable future together.

Pledge 2: NO Fluorine Coating
We do not use fluorine coating on the inner surfaces of our Vacuum Insulated Bottles.
We frequently hear concerns regarding stains and odors inside bottles. While fluorine coating is often used as a solution, there are environmental concerns associated with PFOA, a substance used in its manufacturing process. Therefore, TIGER has developed our proprietary ‘Super Clean Plus’ technology to achieve an equivalent level of stain resistance without the use of fluorine.
This technology involves polishing the metal surface to a smooth finish at the microscopic level, effectively preventing stains, odors, and rust.
In fact, since our founding, we have remained committed to this processing technology and have never used fluorine coating on our bottle interiors. For us, this is simply our standard—and a point of pride on which we refuse to compromise.
Pledge 3: NO Conflict Minerals
We pledge “NO Conflict Minerals.”
“Conflict minerals” refer to minerals such as tin and tantalum that are mined in conflict-affected regions, like those in Africa, and become funding sources for armed groups. Our products must never be built on the sadness or suffering of others. That is our strong conviction.
We also declare that we will not engage in business with any company that employs child laborers aged 15 or under. As a corporation that values human rights, health, and the environment, we believe protecting the safety and future of children is also our vital responsibility.
Pledge 4: NO Outsourced Production
Our final pledge is our “commitment” to manufacturing.
We produce millions of Vacuum Insulated Bottles every year, yet we never simply outsource the manufacturing. Even though it entails higher costs, we manufacture every single unit at our own factories in Japan, China, and Vietnam. This is because we believe that ‘Quality is the lifeline of our brand.’
We believe that we can only protect our customers’ health and ensure high quality by strictly managing “where and by whom our products are made.” Furthermore, because they are our own factories, we can ensure consideration for the environment and the human rights of everyone working there. Valuing people is the very origin of our manufacturing.
Because This “Passion” Was Received

When we announced these “4 PLEDGES” in commercials and other media, we received an incredibly positive and encouraging response. Social media was flooded with supportive comments like, “Well done for declaring this!” and “I never knew Tiger was this kind of company. Amazing!” It was the moment when the “obvious” principles we had always upheld connected with what everyone “had been feeling.”
Internally, too, we heard from our sales team, “Customers told us they resonate with our corporate stance,” and from our production team, “It’s motivating to know my work is connected to the future.” All our employees felt a renewed sense of confidence, affirming that we were right to continue upholding these “obvious” principles.
Creating Future “Joyous Gatherings” Together

Our “4 PLEDGES” may not be anything extraordinary.
However, we believe that faithfully upholding these core principles and continuing to evolve them will lead to “Spreading joyous gatherings throughout the world” in the future. If you’ve read this article and felt even a little bit of connection, thinking, “That’s wonderful!” or “I feel the same way,” we couldn’t be happier. We hope to work with all of you to make these “obvious” principles the “new normal” for the future.
Why not keep a bottle filled with our “pledges” by your side in your daily life?
