“Tiger” Wins the “Legend Award” at the Japan Naming Awards

Tiger Corporation (President: Yoshisato Kikuchi, Headquarters: Kadoma, Osaka), a world leader in thermal control technology, announces that “タイガー魔法瓶” has won the “Japan Naming Award Legend Prize” in the “Japan Naming Award 2023” organized by the Japan Naming Association. The award was given in recognition of the fact that for 100 years since the launch of “虎印魔法瓶”, the company has been providing “good taste and comfort” to people’s lives with “hot and cold drinks” and has established a name that is still loved and familiar today.

About Tiger Corporation

Tiger Corporation was born out of a longing for a place where people could gather together and enjoy hot water (tea) just as their mother used to make it for them, as Tiger Corporation‘s founder Takenori Kikuchi had envisioned during his childhood in the service industry. In 1923, the company was founded as “虎印魔法瓶製造卸菊池製作所”. The company began manufacturing and selling “虎印魔法瓶” for the Japanese market. Origin of the name

In the early days of the vacuum flask industry, there were many cases of using the names of strong animals in product names to dispel the image that the flasks were made of glass and were therefore fragile. When the Great Kanto Earthquake occurred in 1923, most of the vacuum flasks of other companies stored in stores were broken. However, not a single one of Tiger’s vacuum flasks, which were designed to be durable, was destroyed, and all 100 flasks remained intact.
