Tiger Corporation (President: Yoshisato Kikuchi, Headquarters: Kadoma City, Osaka), a world leader in thermal control technology, will launch a new product, the Pressure IH Rice Cooker “炊きたて” JPV-S100/S180, on August 1, 2024. This rice cooker will enable users to cook delicious rice in a shorter amount of time. Launched as a rice cooker that allows busy two-income families to save time and enjoy rice that stays delicious even hours after it is cooked, the JPV series has rapidly grown in popularity as an entry model Tiger Pressure IH Rice Cooker.

The Pressure IH Rice Cooker “炊きたて” JPV-S100/S180 is equipped with a wide variety of menu settings designed with the delicious flavor or rice in mind while incorporating innovations that allow you to save time and effort every day. Features include the UMAMITSUBUDACHI function, which was inspired by the temperature control of ceramic inner pot rice cookers to replicate the flames used with traditional donabe, and the TSUBUDASHI keep-warm program, which adjusts the temperature during the keep-warm phase using a steam sensor to keep the rice moist. These features allow you to enjoy fluffy, firm rice, regardless of whether it has been freshly cooked or kept warm. The product is also equipped with a Brown Rice GABA option, which is thought to be effective in reducing stress and improving sleep quality*1. Other features include the Special Small Amount Cooking and Frozen Rice settings, as well as the versatile Cooking setting that can be used to cook everything from quick meals to elaborate dishes made without adding water.

With the thermal control technology that we have been cultivating for years, we offer this product that brings out the good flavors of rice just like that cooked in a clay pot as well as time-saving cooking, thereby helping to spread joyous harmony throughout the world.

UMAMITSUBUDACHI rice cooking program for cooking tasty and firm plump rice

Aiming for springy rice that becomes sweeter the more you chew it, we have adopted the UMAMITSUBUDACHI rice cooking program for cooking tasty and firm plump rice. This is a rice cooking program inspired by the temperature control of our flagship model, the ceramic inner pot pressure IH rice cooker. The rice cooker lets the rice absorb water for a long time at a relatively low temperature and then rapidly raises the temperature to bring out the sweetness of the rice, thereby ensuring fluffiness while maintaining the springy texture of rice.

TSUBUDACHI keep-warm program for keeping rice warm and fluffy

The steam sensor controls the rising temperature to contain moisture in the cooked rice while keeping it warm. By lowering the rising temperature, the excess steam from the rice can be suppressed. So rice cooked with the UMAMITSUBUDACHI rice cooking program retains an outline of the springy rice grains while being kept fluffy with minimal clumping.

[2] Fluffy and sweet rice produced with far-infrared effect

Far-infrared, five-layer, heat-sealing, ceramic coated inner pot is used. The far-infrared ceramic coating on the inside of the pot causes the rice and water to boil with fine bubbles as if the rice was cooked in a clay pot even with a metal pot and bring out the good flavors of the rice.

[3] There are only two parts to clean

You only need to clean two parts—the inner pot and inner lid. The parts can be removed easily. The dishwasher- and dish dryer-safe inner lid and steam cap are made with attention to ease of daily cleaning. A cleaning course is used to take care of any smells that remain after using rice cooking settings such as those for mixed rice and other cooking programs. It takes as little as 24 minutes*1 to minimize stains and smells inside the rice cooker, a place that is out of reach, with the power of steam*2.

*1 The indicated cleaning time is for JPV-S100. For JPV-S180, it takes about 27 minutes.
*2 Some smells may not be completely eliminated.

Other Features

Small Amount Cooking function that allows delicious rice to be cooked even in small amounts

The Small Amount Cooking allows you to cook delicious rice even in small amounts such as one to two bowls*.

The heating program developed in ceramic inner pot pressure IH rice cookers that brings out the flavor even in small amounts is applied to a metal pot. This is our solution for those who want to enjoy freshly cooked tasty rice in only the amount they need on that day.

*The JPV-S100 series is able to cook 0.5 go or more of rice and the JPV-S180 series 1 go or more of rice.
The LCD on the main unit says “Small Amount Cooking.”

Small Amount and Quick/Frozen Rice settings

A Small Amount setting to cook a bowl of rice (0.5 go) in a minimum of about 15 minutes and 1 go in about 17 minutes* is provided to allow you to eat freshly cooked rice on busy days.

A Frozen Rice setting that allows you to cook delicious rice suitable for freezing is also provided. It takes longer than the White Rice setting to absorb water, and the resulting rice is fluffy to the core with minimal clumping, retaining its delicious flavor even after being stored in the freezer.

*The JPV-S100 series is able to cook 0.5 go or more of rice and the JPV-S180 series 1 go or more of rice.
The time required for cooking may vary depending on the type of rice and room and water temperatures. (Based on our research)

Just add ingredients and press the key to complete a dish! Plenty of cooking menus

The Quick Cooking menu takes as little as 10 minutes to complete a dish. The rice is cooked all at once after it is simmered at a temperature close to boiling. The cooking time can be set in 1-minute increments, making it ideal for quick cooking. On the other hand, the Slow Cooking menu makes it easy to prepare authentic stewed dishes. For the first 60 minutes, the rice is heated at a higher temperature, and after that, the heat is reduced to slow cook the rice, eliminating the risk of overcooking or boiling over. The Slow Cooking setting can also be used to cook dishes without adding water. With Waterless Cooking, the moisture from the ingredients themselves is used instead.

Quick Cooking example

Acqua pazza-style basil-flavored mackerel

Slow Cooking example

Beef shank simmered in demi-glace sauce

Waterless Cooking example

Nikujaga prepared without water
