The Vacuum Insulated Bottles for Carbonated Drinks (for cold drinks only) MTA-T050/T080/T120/T150 released on January 21, 2022 by Tiger Corporation (President: Yoshisato Kikuchi, Headquarters: Kadoma City, Osaka), a world leader in thermal control technology, received the Award for Excellence, the highest award, in the 2022 Nikkei Superior Products and Services Awards sponsored by Nikkei Inc.

What is the Nikkei Superior Products and Services Awards?

The Nikkei Superior Products and Services Awards is a project established and sponsored by Nikkei Inc. to recognize excellent new products and services annually. This is the 41st year of the awards. The products and services released in 2022 were comprehensively evaluated from the aspects of technological development, cost effectiveness, contribution to performance, growth potential, uniqueness, and impacts on the industry and society; among all the award-winning 34 products, the 20 products were selected to receive the Awards for Excellence.

In the midst of a boom in really fizzy drinks, we developed a unique structure that allows carbonated drinks to be carried easily through over 500 experiments. Our Vacuum Insulated Bottles were recognized for our keen awareness of consumer needs, as the fact that our annual sales target of selling 100,000 bottles was achieved in only 3 months after its release prove.

This series received a total of nine awards in about a year from its release. These include ranking 6th in the 2022 Top 30 Hit Products, receiving the Grand Prize in the 2022 Industry Hit Product Awards in the general merchandise department in the Nikkei Trendy magazine published by Nikkei BP, and the Gold Prize in the 35th DIME TREND AWARD 2022 in the daily necessities category in the DIME magazine published by Shogakukan. It has been enjoying great popularity and receiving comments such as “It is a pleasure to carry cold beer or highball in this bottle! * ” and “The product suits my every need.”

[1] The bottles with Tiger’s proprietary BubbleLogic stopper structure, specifically designed for keeping carbonated drinks cold

To respond to customers’ need to carry carbonated drinks, which are popular as daily beverages, kept cold in their drinks bottles, we developed these vacuum insulated bottles that allow the users to carry carbonated drinks safely in them.

The bottles have Tiger’s proprietary BubbleLogic stopper structure for carbonated drinks, which incorporates the following two special mechanisms.

・Carbon dioxide release mechanism

The carbon dioxide release mechanism keeps carbon dioxide contained tightly in the bottle when the cap is closed during normal use. It allows carbon dioxide to drain first when the cap is opened, preventing the drink inside from erupting or exploding, and helping you open the cap easily.

・Safety valve

The safety valve works so that the carbon dioxide inside the bottle can be automatically released when pressure inside the bottle rises to an abnormally high level, for example, when the bottle is heated because it is left in a car in midsummer. This mechanism prevents the cap from flying off or the contents of the bottle from erupting.

On the Super Clean Plus smooth lustrous inner surface of the bottle, carbonation is lost more slowly than on untreated surfaces.

The surface that resists stains, odors, and rust allows you to put a sports drink in the bottle.
(Clean the bottle immediately after use.)

*The drink inside may lose carbonation easily under certain conditions, such as when the remaining liquid is small in volume or hot.

A: With Super Clean Plus finish
The smooth surface prevents carbonation from being lost easily.
B: Without Super Clean Plus finish
Small bumps and crevices on the surface accelerate the loss of carbonation.

[3] Available in colors that evoke the refreshing feeling of carbonation

The bottles have a translucent color coat that enhances the beauty of stainless steel. The special surface finish using matte beads provides a pleasant-to-touch texture. The bottles are available in the three colors of Copper, Emerald, and Steel that evoke the image of carbonic acid while enhancing the metallic feel. They are available in not only convenient-to-use sizes of 0.5 L/0.8L but also larger sizes of 1.2 L/1.5 L.

  • Copper: The color evokes the image of a tank installed in a beer brewery and expresses the freshness of carbonation.
  • Emerald: The green color has recently been receiving attention from the perspective of sustainability. This color evokes the image of a glass bottle containing carbonated water.
  • Steel: This color predominant in everyday living matches all scenes.
