DESIGN CONCEPT

The exquisite beauty born from traditional craftsmanship

KANOKO〈RK〉

Kanoko shibori is a kimono dyeing technique dating back over a thousand years. To add color and patterns to the kimono fabric, the cloth is pinched one grain at a time, tied with thread, and then dyed. When the thread is removed, the tied areas remain white, revealing beautiful patterns and a unique texture. The beauty of kanoko shibori, expressed through the meticulous arrangement of tiny grains, is unparalleled in the world.

WASHI〈GW〉

Washi paper, meticulously crafted by interweaving plant fibers, boasts a unique texture that has long been cherished. It has been used for residential interiors like sliding doors and as everyday items such as tableware. Durable and highly preservable, it is now utilized worldwide for restoring artworks and cultural assets. This material, embodying both strength and beauty, has supported Japanese life for centuries.

LayerCoat

Proprietary technique of layering to reproduce traditional Japanese beauty

The defining feature of this vacuum-insulated bottle is its three-dimensional surface finish, crafted to match each design. To express the delicate dyeing created by fine shibori patterns and the texture of a single sheet of paper formed by layered fibers, we researched distinct layering techniques for each motif. By meticulously layering color tones and intricate patterns one layer at a time to create a textured, three-dimensional effect, we captured the tactile quality of the motif. Each texture can be enjoyed as if you were holding it in your hand.
