[Part 1] A First Look!? A Tour of the Headquarters Office Building with Our New Employees!

1F: A Floor Steeped in History and Passion

The building’s entrance features a smart, sophisticated design with a gray color scheme. The familiar, adorable Tiger logo shines brightly against it. Furthermore, there’s a playful touch to this large automatic door. You can actually spot a tiny Tiger face silhouette! Finding this cute design instantly relieves some tension and warms the heart.

To be honest, we new employees were quite nervous on our first day, but we passed through this entrance filled with excitement for the days ahead. Even now, every time we walk through here, we are reminded of that fresh feeling and it feels like a positive switch is flipped.

It’s not just an entrance; it’s a design overflowing with Tiger’s signature approachability and “warmth” right from this very spot. It’s an entrance we are proud of, giving us the energy to look forward every time we pass through!

Headquarters Office Building Lobby

Passing through the entrance of the headquarters office building, you enter a grand, open lobby enveloped in the “warmth” of wood, symbolizing Tiger Corporation’s legacy of Monozukuri (manufacturing craftsmanship). The walls feature a layered “lamination” motif made of combined wood (representing the depth of value and corporate culture cultivated over the years, as well as our history). Looking up, your eyes are drawn to a large chandelier shaped like “tree roots,” featuring lampshades made by melting down the glass-lined vacuum bottles that are the roots of our company.

When we first stepped foot in here, we were absolutely amazed by the overwhelming sense of openness! The warm, wood-toned wall design gently eased the stiff tension we felt as fresh hires, and the abundant sunlight pouring in through the large windows recharged our relaxed minds with bright, cheerful energy.

This lobby is also highly praised by the senior staff in the Sales Department who welcome our guests! When they introduce the layered-motif walls and the glass chandelier to clients visiting for business meetings, everyone’s face instantly lights up with a smile, sparking friendly conversations from there. The space itself, packed with our company’s history and dedication, serves as an excellent conversation starter with our guests.

Every time we pass through here, we feel encouraged by this space filled with Tiger’s dedication. As new employees, we will do our utmost to protect the wonderful brand image that our seniors have carefully built over the years, and we will continue to do our best step by step every day to contribute even more to the company’s growth!

Moving further to the back left, there is an exhibition lined with past Tiger products, creating a special space where you can physically experience the history and evolution of Tiger’s manufacturing craftsmanship.

Company Exhibition

Here, a lineup of past star products that color Tiger’s history is on display, including the glass-lined vacuum bottles that are Tiger’s origin, and nostalgic flower-patterned rice cookers. The latest rice cookers are also exhibited, allowing us to firsthand feel the steady progress of evolution tailored to the times and consumer needs.

My absolute favorite in the exhibition is the Ceramic Pot Pressure Induction Heating Rice Cookers! Hidden behind the adoption of an “authentic ceramic pot”—which no other company offers—was an unimaginable level of passion. I was deeply moved by their uncompromising attitude of developing a difficult-to-handle ceramic pot from scratch purely to pursue the ideal deliciousness of rice, and I have completely become a fan of this product.

According to the Sales Department, when they show guests the successive generations of logos displayed here, it often becomes a heartwarming conversation starter with people of all ages, bringing them great joy and naturally letting the conversation bloom.

Every time we visit this area, even as new employees, we are deeply moved, thinking, “We have spread warm, joyful gatherings throughout the world with so many products up to now,” and we feel a strong sense of pride in our company’s history and reliable technical capabilities.

2F: A Relaxing Space for Joyful Gatherings

Ascending the grand open staircase from the first floor, you are welcomed by the overwhelming presence of “Roots of Tiger,” a giant chandelier made of glass, the origin of vacuum bottles. The second floor features floor-to-ceiling glass walls, creating an attractive, serene atmosphere bathed in abundant natural light.

At lunchtime, the cafeteria “Tigris”—meaning tiger in Latin—bustles with people. Furthermore, the floor is packed with features designed to generate informal interactions, such as an Open Innovation Area for focused work and a casually accessible step-bench located under the stairs leading to the third floor.

Opening the cafeteria doors, the first thing that catches your eye is the pop and cute tiger illustrations created by designer Mic Itaya. These illustrations are placed in five locations throughout the cafeteria. They are all wonderful designs that you never get tired of seeing, making the time spent waiting in line during busy hours surprisingly enjoyable.

The monitors at the entrance display a wide variety of affordable and delicious menus. Four enticing options are prepared every day, and deciding on “today’s dish” while discussing “What are you having today?” with my peers is a secret pleasure of my mornings.

By the way, the absolute most popular item among us new employees is the “Aji Fry” (Deep-fried Horse Mackerel)! On Aji Fry days, almost all of our peers are drawn in to order it, so before you know it, the tables are completely covered with Aji Fry—it’s a familiar sight.

Moreover, we get even more fired up on regular “Event Menu” days. Among them, the pizza baked in Tiger’s pizza oven is exceptionally delicious! With its moist yet crispy dough and generous toppings, some of our peers rave that it’s “the best pizza I’ve ever eaten in my life!”

Enjoying delicious meals and casual conversations, it is the perfect place to fully refresh both mind and body, making it one of our absolute favorite relaxing spaces in the company.

This time, we interviewed the head chef, who supports the cafeteria, about the highly popular recommended menus among employees.

Camp Setting Area

A campsite inside the office…!? The “Camp Setting Area” on the second floor is lined with stylish camping gear. Just looking at this extraordinary space helps relieve the tension for us new employees. This area can be used freely for focused work or as a place to refresh.

Actually, before joining the company, I participated in a mini-seminar held here. Thanks to the relaxed atmosphere surrounded by outdoor chairs, my stiff tension was surprisingly eased, and I clearly remember being able to converse naturally with a smile.

Through this experience of “relaxation removing mental barriers and fostering dialogue,” I was able to firsthand feel the company’s attitude of valuing free thinking. We want to master using this space soon and take on the challenge of exciting manufacturing craftsmanship just like our senior colleagues!
