WHAT IS ORANGE CHICKEN?
A popular American-Chinese dish, orange chicken features battered chicken pieces coated in a sweet, tangy, and savory glaze. Common additions include sesame seeds and dried red chilies, typically served over white rice with a side of broccoli.
Though rarely found in China, this dish has become a global favorite for a reason—it’s absolutely delicious!
What sets orange chicken apart from similar dishes, like General Tso’s chicken, is its citrus component. This recipe uses orange marmalade for a subtle sweetness that enhances the umami flavors of soy sauce, sesame oil, and rice vinegar.
